Sarah B.
Private tutor in Milford, NH
Education
I have a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Virginia, 1989. Since then I have worked in publishing, first as a proofreader, and now as an editor (for more than 25 years). I work from home, so my availability is generous.
Experience
I've always wanted to teach and am good at it. I am a "polymath"—I love many subjects and can help others achieve not only proficiency, but enthusiasm and appreciation. My philosophy of teaching is to help the student understand WHY they are learning, because only then can they be engaged. My favorite activity is reading, and I love reading aloud and sharing my love of books and good writing. I was a tutor in college and have always wanted to get back to it. I got 1490 on the SATs (back when the highest score was 1600)
